Whale shark diving / snorkeling in Oslob --> see on map
A little bit farther away, but absolutely worth bearing the trip are the whale sharks in Oslob.
Oslob is located at the south tip of Cebu, about one hour ride by car from Moalboal.
There are a variety of possibilities how to get there. We often also drive our guests ourselves.
In Oslob are sometimes upto 15 whale sharks at once.
No matter if you go diving or snorkeling, it will be an unforgetable journey.
I took the following pictures and videos myself.
Tilapia fishing in Barilli and Mantayupan falls --> see on map
Barili is about 18 miles away from Moalboal. You can reach Barili for example by bus within half an hour.
For some Pesos you can rent a fishing-rod and try your luck at the small fish farm where Tilapias (fresh water perches) are bred.
If you don't succeed yourself you can also buy a fish there. If you wish they will disembowel them for you.
You can broil the fish at our big BBQ place when you return.
The required coal for each kind of barbecue is always available free of charge at our place.
Osmena Peak --> see on map
Osmeña Peak is the highest point in the island of Cebu, a province in the Philippines.
Standing 1,013 meters above sea level, this stunning site offers a dramatic view of jagged cliffs with a view of the sea in the distance. Locals often liken the view to Bohol’s Chocolate Hills.
But instead of rolling curved mounds, the hills here have sharp protruding peaks. Set amidst the limestone cliffs, the hills resemble a field of gigantic green Hershey’s Kisses.
It’s unlike anything I’ve seen during previous hikes.
The Kawasan waterfalls --> see on map
open 5:00 am - 2:00 pm
The Kawasan waterfalls are about half an hour away from Moalboal.
The waterfalls with its three basins in three different hights are hidden in the middle of the jungle surrounded by a beautiful botany which gives many butterflies a home.
It's an ideal day trip. You can swim in the nice fresh water and nearby restaurants serve cold beer and other drinks as well as some snacks.
Most people bring their own picnic. They will stop by the fish or meat markets on the way, buy some meat or fish and give it to the locals close to the waterfalls who will broil it for you.
Have fun on the big bamboo floats who will bring you under the falling waters where you can enjoy nice massages.
